PTI top leader Fawad Chowdhury quit the party on Wednesday. Three more leaders resigned together the next day. Tweeting about leaving the party, he said: “I already made a statement strongly condemning the incident on the past 9. But this time I want to take a break from politics. I am resigning from all positions in the party. There will be no way with Imran Khan Around the same time, Imran’s cabinet minister, Shireen Mazario, resigned. She also protested in the same way at the behavior of PTI supporters, although Shirin said she is leaving politics for family reasons.

The day after this incident, three PTI leaders left the party together. Malika Bokhari told a press conference after getting bail: “The May 9 incident cannot be accepted as Pakistan. I will leave politics for now. I want to play a beneficial role as a lawyer. I will also give time to my family.” On the same day, the wife Omar Sarfraz Chima also left the party. She clarified that if the workers are violent, the party will have to take responsibility.

Since Imran Khan’s arrest, the country has been virtually in a state of civil war. The former prime minister also claimed that there is a conspiracy to ban his PTI party from him. Imran recently wrote on his Twitter account: ‘About 7,000 PTI supporters have been arrested. Our supporters, leaders and women have been jailed without investigating who is behind the violence.” As PTI leaders resign ahead of the ban, questions are raised about Imran’s political future.
