A friend in need, Turkey thanks India for helping after earthquake, says ‘Dost’

Daily digital news desk: True friends are those who stand by you in times of danger: this is how Turkey thanked India in the midst of a terrible disaster. After the earthquake in that country (Turkey Earthquake), India decided to call an emergency meeting and send help. After that, the Turkish ambassador Firat Sunel thanked India addressing him as “friend”. He said that the word friend is common in both Hindi and Turkish. Then Sunel thanked India using a Turkish proverb.

Turkey was shaken by a terrible earthquake in the early hours of this Monday. The tremors also affected neighboring Syria. As soon as the rescue operation began, the death toll increased by leaps and bounds. In this situation, the Prime Minister’s Office held an emergency meeting. It was decided to send a rescue team of 100 people to Turkey. Preparations began to send squads of dogs, relief material and medicines. The first plane has already arrived there. The second plane has all the emergency medical equipment. In addition, 2 more aircraft have been dispatched from the Indian Air Force.

Following this announcement, Firat Sunel, the Turkish ambassador to India, tweeted thanking India. He writes: “The word ‘dost’ is used in both Turkish and Hindi. We have a saying in Turkish, dost kara gunde belli alur. It means that those who stand by you in times of danger are true friends. Thank you very much India. When we sought help after the disaster, India was the first to come forward. ”

On the other hand, Pakistan maintained non-cooperation with India even in times of danger. The Shahbaz Sharif government did not allow the Indian rescue team plane to enter its airspace. Pakistan did not allow the Indian planes even considering the issue of humanitarian aid. This is the second time that neighboring India has behaved like this. India sent aid to Afghanistan after the fall of Kabul to the Taliban in 2021. Also at that time, the Indian plane arrived in Kabul in a detour.
