Following this announcement, Firat Sunel, the Turkish ambassador to India, tweeted thanking India. He writes: “The word ‘dost’ is used in both Turkish and Hindi. We have a saying in Turkish, dost kara gunde belli alur. It means that those who stand by you in times of danger are true friends. Thank you very much India. When we sought help after the disaster, India was the first to come forward. ”

On the other hand, Pakistan maintained non-cooperation with India even in times of danger. The Shahbaz Sharif government did not allow the Indian rescue team plane to enter its airspace. Pakistan did not allow the Indian planes even considering the issue of humanitarian aid. This is the second time that neighboring India has behaved like this. India sent aid to Afghanistan after the fall of Kabul to the Taliban in 2021. Also at that time, the Indian plane arrived in Kabul in a detour.
