Ambuja Cements said in a BSE briefing on Tuesday that the company had made a net profit of Rs 430.97 crore in the October-December quarter of the previous fiscal year.

Consolidated net profit of Adani Group company Ambuja Cements increased by 13.2 per cent to Rs 487.88 crore in the December quarter of the current fiscal year. Ambuja Cements said in a BSE briefing on Tuesday that the company had made a net profit of Rs 430.97 crore in the October-December quarter of the previous fiscal year. The operating income of the cement company also increased by 3.69% to Rs 7,906.74 crore during the quarter under review. Rs 7,625.28 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.

At the same time, its total spending also increased by 6.01 per cent to Rs 7,278.89 crore. The expenditure during the same period a year ago was Rs 6,865.61 crore. Ambuja Cements’ consolidated results also include the financial performance of its subsidiary ACC Ltd. The company has about 51 per cent ownership in it. Independently, the company’s net profit grew 45.95 percent in the last quarter. It increased from Rs 252.81 crore to Rs 368.99 crore.

At the same time, the company’s standalone operating income also increased by 10.39% to 4,128.52% in the quarter under review. In the third quarter of last year, this figure was Rs 3,739.92 crore. Ajay Kapoor, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ambuja Cements, said the cement sector witnessed higher production and capacity utilization during the quarter, driven by demand.
