The camera on NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter shows what appears to be a giant bear face with two round eyes and a mouth in this photo released by the University of Arizona on January 25. As we said, this photo was taken by the orbiter while it was orbiting about 251 km above Mars.
In fact, it is a rock formation, the bear’s eyes are actually two large craters on the planet, and the circular pattern of the head may be due to “sunken craters.”
The University of Arizona High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRISE) Camera Blog says: (translated) “This feature looks a bit like a bear’s face. What exactly is it? V-shaped structure (nose), two craters (eyes), and a hill with a circular fracture pattern (head). The circular fracture pattern may have been caused by the deposition of deposits in a buried impact crater. The nose may have been a volcano. or mud vent and could the deposit be lava or mudflow?”
According to NDTV, the popular “Star Trek” Starfleet logo was found on the surface of Mars by NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter in June 2019. The orbiter also captured a set of strange chevron symbols on a Martian sand dune in the southeast region of Hellas Planitia. The team claims that wind, lava and dunes have created many shapes on Mars.
