Budget 2022: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman introduces the budget (Budget 2022) for the fiscal year 2022-23 in Parliament. Union Finance Minister Nirmal Sitharaman announced several schemes for women in his fourth budget speech on Tuesday. Recognizing the importance of ‘women’s power’, the Finance Minister told Parliament today that 3 schemes will be launched. He said: “Our government has comprehensively revamped schemes like Mission Shakti, Mission Vatsalya, Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 from the Ministry of Women and Child Development to provide benefits.” He said 2 lakh Anganwadis (Anganwadi) will be upgraded to Saksham Anganwadi.
FM Sitharaman allocated ₹20,105 crore for Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 scheme, ₹900 crore for Mission Vatsalya in last year’s budget. The Finance Minister said that three schemes have been launched for the comprehensive development of women and children. Two lakh Anganwadis will be upgraded to improve child health. According to the Ministry of Women and Child Development, according to the 2011 census, women and children make up 67.7% of the population of India.
