After a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck early Monday morning, the Middle Eastern country trembled again in the afternoon. As before, the neighboring country, Syria, has also been hit hard. The death toll from the first tremors has already exceeded 1,300. The rescue work is in full swing. The first earthquake struck at around 4:30 am local time in Turkey on Monday. The vibration lasted about 45 seconds. Since then, continuous aftershocks have been felt in the affected areas. 22 times in five hours mild tremors were detected in the affected area. Meanwhile, disaster response forces went into overdrive to rescue.

After 9 hours, the southern part of Turkey was shaken again by a huge earthquake. An earthquake measuring 7.6 on the Richter scale occurred around noon this Monday. The origin of this tremor is in the Elbistan district. The tremors are reported to have been generated just 2 km deep into the ground. As a result, the amount of damage will be greatly increased from a single hit.
India has already announced the dispatch of a large contingent to support Turkey. The central government has decided to send a team of 100 members of the Disaster Response Force. Arrangements are being made to send a large team including doctors and rescue dogs to Turkey as soon as possible. A large amount of aid will also be sent to Turkey. The Prime Minister’s office held an emergency meeting after receiving the news of the earthquake. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has promised all aid to Turkey.
