HCL had recently disclosed information about Vijaykumar’s package in its annual report. Vijayakumar joined HCL in 1994 and became the company’s CEO some seven years ago after holding various positions for more than two decades. Wipro CEO Thierry Delaporte is second on this list. His package last year was Rs 79.80 crore. This included a salary of over Rs 13 crore and allowances, commissions and variable payments of Rs 19.3 crore and other incentives of Rs 31.8 crore.
Salil Parekh of the global IT company Infosys is in third place on this list. According to Infosys annual report, Parekh’s salary in the last financial year increased by almost 43 per cent to Rs 71.02 crore. This includes Restricted Share Units (RSUs) worth more than Rs 52 crore. Prior to joining Infosys, Parekh was at Capgemini for nearly 26 years.
Tech Mahindra CEO CP Gurnani was awarded a package of Rs 63.4 crore last year. His package increased by 189 percent. Tech Mahindra stated in its annual report that its package included stock compensation benefits in addition to salary. Rajesh Gopinathan, CEO of the country’s largest IT company, TCS, ranks fifth on this list. Last year he received a package of around 26 crores. This included a salary of Rs 1.5 crore, benefits and allowances of Rs 2.25 crore and a commission of Rs 22 crore. Last year, the company reappointed Gopinathan as CEO for a five-year term. Previously, he also held the position of Chief Financial Officer at TCS.
