These electric scooters have features like hibernation battery technology. The company’s chief executive, Sohinder Gill, said Hero Electric’s diverse portfolio meets the varied mobility needs of customers. He added that the new scooters have been designed with the feedback of more than six lakh customers. These have powertrains that have been developed to convert almost all of the battery power into usable power for the scooters. The company’s managing director, Naveen Munjal, said that a lot of research and development (R&D) has been done for the new electric scooters.
He said that the company is ready to manufacture more than one million vehicles a year from its manufacturing units. Hero Electric had signed an agreement with the Rajasthan government last year to set up a mega electric vehicle manufacturing plant. An investment of more than Rs 1200 crore will be made in this plant. Its annual production capacity will be more than 20 lakh units.
This plant will be in the industrial area of Salarpur on 170 acres. Production is expected to start late next year. New technologies such as modern equipment and robotics will be used in this plant. In this, renewable energy resources like solar power will also be emphasized. This will be the company’s third greenfield plant. A large number of people will gain employment from this plant. Hero Electric sold 5,861 units of electric scooters in February. This is less than the company’s sales in the same month last year. Last year, the company’s February sales were 6,393 units. Electric scooters and electric bicycles account for about two percent of the total two-wheeler sales in the country. It is planned to increase it to around 80 percent by 2030. Several new electric two-wheelers are likely to be launched in the coming months. <!–
