Indian High Commission: Britain hit the road due to strong response from India, increased security from Indian High Commission

The UK government has tightened security outside the Indian mission in London ahead of protests by Khalistani supporters. Security was tightened and barricades were erected outside the High Commission of India here on Wednesday due to a planned protest by some British Sikh groups. After the attack, India summoned the British Deputy High Commissioner and sought an explanation for the complete absence of security. Banners of a so-called “national protest” organized by groups including the Federation of Sikh Organizations (FSO) and Sikh Youth Jathebandiya were seen circulating on social media ahead of a protest on Sunday. The Indian government launched a strong protest over the lack of security measures at its diplomatic mission, which smashed mission windows as protesters waved Khalistan flags and tried to topple the tricolor.
