Net profit of InterGlobe Aviation, the parent company of the country’s largest airline IndiGo, rose to Rs 1,422.6 crore in the October-December quarter of the current fiscal year. Strong demand for air travel boosted the company’s earnings. The company gave this information on Friday. In the same quarter of the previous fiscal year (2021-22), the company made a net profit of Rs 129.8 crore. During this period, the total revenue of the company increased to Rs 15,410.2 crore. It was Rs 9,480.1 crore in the same period a year ago.
IndiGo Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Peter Albers said: “The third quarter performance has been strong on both the operational and financial fronts against the backdrop of strong demand for air travel. Initiatives across the organization have started to pay off.” IndiGo’s revenue increased to Rs 154,100 crore in the December quarter. This is the highest quarterly revenue in the company’s history.
