Infinix Zero 5G comes with a single variant of 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. Its price is 19,999 rupees. It can currently be purchased on Flipkart for Rs 17,999. The phone comes in Cosmic Black, Horizon Blue, and Skylight Orange colors.
Infinix Zero 5G Design
Infinix Zero 5G is very large in size and it seems impossible to operate it with one hand. It is longer than the iPhone 13 Pro Max. The good thing is that the thickness is not much at 8.77mm and the weight is manageable at 199g. I had the black variant with its glossy finish that catches fingerprints very easily. Stains are easily visible and do not go away quickly even after cleaning. In such a situation, keeping it clean also becomes a big task.
Its rear camera module is reminiscent of the Oppo Find X5 Pro. It seems to emerge from the rear panel and looks quite attractive. Therefore, it looks quite good and different in the phones of this segment. The rear panel is made of polycarbonate. After a few weeks of use without a case, it had small scratches on the bottom.
The volume and power buttons are located on the right side of the phone and do not feel a click when pressed. The fingerprint scanner is provided on the power button. The left side tray has slots for two nano SIMs and a microSD card slot. The headphone jack, USB Type-C port, and speaker are located at the bottom of the phone.
Infinix Zero 5G gets a 6.78-inch full-HD+ IPS LCD display. It has a 120 Hz refresh rate and a 240 Hz touch sampling rate. The screen gets a maximum brightness of 500 nits. Scratch resistant glass on the screen has not been confirmed. The bezels around the screen aren’t sharp, but the camera cutout could have been smaller. Infinix has given the phone a powerful processor in the form of MediaTek Dimensity 900 processor. This is also seen in expensive phones like OnePlus Nord CE 2 (Review) and Oppo Reno 6 (Review). The chip has support for 13 5G bands. The company says it has LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, which is not often seen in this segment.
Infinix Zero 5G has the usual sensor and satellite navigation system. It has support for Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1. The phone doesn’t come with stereo speakers and doesn’t get an IP rating either. But it has FM radio. It houses a 5,000 mAh battery that should last at least a full day.
The company’s custom XOS 10 skin has been provided on the Zero 5G, which is based on Android 11. The Android 12 update will also hit the phone, but not before August. I would like to say that XOS is not my favorite because its UI elements are very busy and sometimes it is hard to find what we are looking for.
There are many pre-installed apps available on the phone that keep sending notifications without any work. Apps like AHA Games, Palm Store, Hi Browser, InSync seemed unnecessary and could not be removed. Basic settings such as the battery usage graph are also provided in the menu, which seems redundant.
I like some UI elements, like the XArena Games app, which is a smart app and allows you to change some UI settings from within the game. However, it also recognized Twitter and Google Photos as games, which was surprising. Hope it gets better with the Android 12 update.

The experience of using the phone is not that bad. But I would say avoid the black variant because keeping it clean is a big task as I said before. The blue and orange color variants would be more correct. The phone’s screen is bright and there’s no problem reading outdoors either. But if you don’t activate its one-handed mode, it seems very difficult to operate with one hand.
Videos streamed on the phone looked decent with decent colors and brightness. There is no support for HDR video playback. The single speaker is loud but lacks stereo speakers for surround sound. The refresh rate is not dynamic and is fixed at 120Hz.
I found that when I set it to Automatic, it ran at 120Hz only on the home screen and in the Gallery app, and dropped to 60Hz in other apps. You have to push it to 120Hz for smooth scrolling. The phone performed well in the benchmark test. The phone scored 475,637 points on AnTuTu. It also scored 730 and 2037 points in Geekbench’s single-core and multi-core tests, respectively. Games like Asphalt 9: Legends and Call of Duty: Mobile ran pretty well on the phone. After a 30-minute session, the back of the phone started to get warm, but not so hot that you couldn’t hold it in your hand.
Battery life was also very good during the review period. The phone lasted for more than a day, even with heavy use. It lasted 16 hours and 35 minutes in our HD video loop test, which is above average. Your charger charges the battery very quickly. Its battery charged to 92 percent in an hour.

Its telephoto camera is a special point that sets it apart from others in this segment. It has a 13-megapixel resolution and comes with autofocus. It comes with f/2.46 aperture and comes with 2X optical zoom. Digital zoom can be done up to 30X on this.
The camera works great when shooting during the day. He gave good detail in landscapes and close-ups. Exposure was handled well and focus on the subject was quite sharp. I got good detail up to 10X zoom. But going above that, the quality started to deteriorate. The pimples appeared in photos taken at 30X, and the things looked almost recognizable. Its low light performance was not good at 2X. As I zoomed in further, the quality got worse.
Apart from this, there is a 48-megapixel main camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor at the rear of the phone. No ultraviolet lens has been provided in the phone. The main camera disappointed as its exposure was not good during the day. In the open landscape and bright sunlight, the main camera took pictures of the wash. Here the telephoto camera was taking better photos than the main camera.
Low-light landscape shots looked quite dark and lacked good detail. After turning on Supernight mode, the quality improved a lot. Portrait mode photos were decent, with good background blur and edge detection at its best.
Its 16MP selfie camera doesn’t impress much. The results are not very good in the day and night. Selfies could be used during the day, but the colors were underexposed, as was the exposure. Low light selfies were quite grainy and dark. There were some improvements to Super Night mode, but detail remained weak here as well.
Infinix Zero 5G can record video up to 4K at 30fps, but stabilization is not available. Colors in video shot in daylight seemed oversaturated. Low-light images looked grainy. Video quality didn’t improve much, even at 1080p, and footage didn’t stabilize. The only way to get smooth footage was to enable Ultra Steady mode, but the frame was cropped and the resolution was limited to 1080p at 30fps.

The Infinix Zero 5G offers good features on paper, which is what caught my eye in the first place. Its processor is obviously good, battery life is also good, and charging is also fast. The telephoto camera is above average. The performance of the rest of the camera disappoints and the software experience is also not special.
If you want a phone with a good telephoto camera in this range then I suggest spending a little more money and buying the Motorola Edge 20 which has the same 5G processor and 3X telephoto camera.
