International Golf Series: Chaurasia beats India in Muscat, title for Kanaya

The talented Japanese Takumi Kanaya won his first professional title outside of the country. He shot a 71-under in the final round for a total of 10-under.

Musket. SSP Chaurasia got off to a strong start to its 2023 international season by finishing tied for 30th among Indian golfers in the $2 million International Golf Series here. Chawrasia shot 75, 71, 72 and 73 to finish tied for 30th with Rashid Khan. A two-time Asian Tour winner, Rashid posted scores of 70, 77, 70 and 74. Talented Japanese Takumi Kanaya won his first professional title outside the country. He shot a 71-under in the final round for a total of 10-under.

Kanaya, 24, of Japan, defeated Barry Henson (70) of the United States and Sedam Keewkanjana of Thailand by four shots. Among other Indians, Shiv Kapur (75) and Jyoti Randhawa (76) finished tied for 43rd, while Gaganjit Bhullar finished tied for 53rd. S Chikkarangappa (76) finished tied for 64th and Honey Baisoya (71) she finished tied for 77th place.
