Israel’s military said the airstrikes targeted a “rocket manufacturing workshop” (in Gaza-controlled territory) of the Hamas militant group. Chemical raw material was stored there. No immediate reports of casualties
Tel Aviv. Israeli jets attacked a militant hideout in the Gaza Strip on Thursday. The action came hours after Palestinian militants fired a rocket into southern Israel. The Israeli army gave this information. Israel’s military said the airstrikes targeted a “rocket manufacturing workshop” (in Gaza-controlled territory) of the Hamas militant group. Chemical raw material was stored there. There was no immediate word of any victims. Earlier, Israel’s air defense system shot down a rocket fired from Gaza on Wednesday night, the army said.
Gaza and Israeli militants launched rockets and airstrikes last week after a military operation killed 10 Palestinians in the West Bank, again disrupting months of peace in the region. Locals in Israel reported hearing explosions. According to Israel’s relief work service, it has not received any reports of injuries other than a 50-year-old woman. The woman had slipped and fallen while she was making her way to a shelter. This action was taken after Hamas threatened Israel over the aggressive stance of National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir. Ben vowed to take a strong stand against Palestinians detained in Israel’s prisons.
