After Mx Player web series ‘Dharavi Bank’, this time Bollywood star Sunil Shetty is coming with MMA reality show ‘Kumite 1 Warrior Hunt’. Recently, a spectacular trailer for this show was released in which Sunil Shetty is seen playing the lead role i.e. hosting the show. Recently, Sunil Shetty said that the image of him has always been that of an action hero and that he grew up learning martial arts. Suniel Shetty said that he grew up learning martial arts and this is the only thing that gave him the image and opportunity to be an action hero in Hindi cinema.
Sunil Shetty credits Martian art for this. Suniel Shetty further added: “I keep saying wrestling, wrestling, wrestling, wrestling, because it’s about grappling, less about power, more about holding, so I go for a never-give-up approach.” I felt like I needed to start something I wasn’t even working on at this stage of my career a few years from now. I wanted to give back, and I wanted to give back in a big way.’ The show is a way to showcase small town talent, India has a lot to offer but many don’t get the chance.
So for me, this is an opportunity for these kids to make a difference. Suniel Shetty also said that MMA fighters are like his children and he is inspired by them. He said: ‘I cry for each one and I clap for each one. It’s more about beauty, it’s love and passion for the game, and I’m inspired by them too.’
“This is just the beginning and hopefully ‘Kumite 1 Warrior Hunt’ will get better,” he added. I call Khali Bhai (The Great Khali) the ‘Gentle Little Giant’ and we need people like him to step up and support sports like this. ‘Kumite 1 Warrior Hunt’ will see the top 16 male and female MMA athletes compete for a title, while being trained by renowned MMA coaches – Bharat Khandare and Pawan Mann. The six-episode series will launch on MX Player on February 12.
