So far, many people have died in the state due to attacks by stray animals, and many have been crippled for life.
Yogi’s government has made a big decision in view of the problems of the people and the growing discontent among them. The state government has announced compensation for those victims who have been injured or maimed in attacks by bulls or nilgai. The government has decided to include attacks by stray animals, especially nilgai and bulls, in the list of state calamities. In such a situation, now about the incidents of attack or collision of these animals, the victims will get compensation from the government.
As per the instructions issued by the state government, compensation of up to 2.50 lakh will be given for more than 60 per cent disability, while for 40 to 60 per cent disability, compensation of Rs 74,000 will be given. If the person injured in the attack has to be hospitalized for more than a week, she will receive Rs 16,000 as compensation. Earlier, the UP govt had announced compensation of Rs 4 lakh last year for deaths due to nilgai or bull attack or collision.
There are around 1.18 lakh stray animals in UP. The number of accidents involving Nilgai and bulls is increasing day by day in the state. Due to this, anger is rising among the people. Farmers have to stay up all night to protect their standing crops.
