Mangalyaan sent the first image of the Red Planet

The Indian space program Mangalyaan has sent back the first image of Mars.

ISRO wrote on the Mangalyaan Twitter account @MarsOrbiter: “The view here is beautiful.”

Mangalyaan was placed in orbit of the Red Planet at 8 a.m. Wednesday.

For the next six months, this satellite will continue to provide important information and images about Mars.

After initial failures, the US space agency NASA has also recently placed its “MAVEN” satellite in Mars orbit.
