Fatehpur: In the Fatehpur district, police arrested three people, including his wife, in connection with the murder of a businessman in the town of Bindki on the night of January 29. Fatehpur (SP) Police Superintendent Rajesh Kumar Singh said on Friday that Amit Kumar Gupta, a yarn merchant based in the town of Bindki, had come to his house from Mumbai on January 26. On January 29, his wife Poonam also came to Bindki from Mumbai along with the children. Gupta was assassinated the same night. The police arrived with the information of the incident and inspected the place. During this, the room in which the police found the businessman’s body was locked from the inside.
Wife and children were present in the same room. About this, the police questioned her wife, arresting her on suspicion. Singh said that Poonam was allegedly having illicit relations with her brother-in-law Ramkhelavan and her lover Avinash Yadav alias Umendra. Gupta found out about this. There used to be a fight between husband and wife on this issue.

She said that due to this, Poonam conspired to kill her husband and for this she paid Rs 7 lakh. Singh said that upon the complaint from the businessman’s mother, the police registered a case, launched an investigation and arrested Amit Gupta’s wife Poonam, Shera aka Ankit Singh, Anshul Paswan and Keshav Gupta.
He said that Ankit alias Shera is a type of vicious criminal. He has 14 cases registered against him for various felonies including gangster law in Fatehpur and Kanpur districts. On the other hand, four cases are registered against Keshav Gupta at Aung and Kanpur police stations in Fatehpur. The SP said that Poonam’s brother-in-law Ramkhelavan and Mohit Paswan are eloping.
