Prepare for the rescue on the space station! NASA talks to Elon Musk’s company

The US space agency NASA and the Russian space agency Roscosmos are engaged in finding a solution to a problem on the International Space Station (ISS). In fact, in September there was a coolant leak in the Soyuz spacecraft carrying 3 astronauts. Due to this, this spaceship is no longer fit to fly. Now, a NASA blog post claims that it has inquired about using the ‘SpaceX Dragon capsule’ to fly astronauts home from the ISS.

The coolant leak on the Soyuz spacecraft was detected on December 15, 2022. Due to this, NASA also had to postpone its proposed spacewalk. Russia has not said anything about whether the Soyuz spacecraft attached to the International Space Station is now airworthy. The three astronauts who boarded this spacecraft currently do not have any spacecraft to save their lives in an emergency.

These three astronauts are: Sergei Prokopyev and Dmitry Petelin from Russia and Frank Rubio from NASA. NASA is considering all options to soon deliver a spacecraft to the three astronauts. NASA is also said to be considering the Dragon capsule from Elon Musk’s SpaceX company. Information has been sought from SpaceX in this regard. In the past, Reuters had also said this in its report.

However, the initial focus of Russia and NASA is to find out the reasons for the malfunction of the Soyuz spacecraft. In the next few days it will be possible to know if the Soyuz spacecraft is suitable for use or not. Apart from this, Russia is also planning from its side. It has another Soyuz spacecraft that can be launched from Earth and bring astronauts back.
