Yes, today two HC Chief Justices were elevated to the Supreme Court on Friday. After taking the oath, the number of judges in SC will be 34, which is its maximum approved strength.

Justice Minister Kiren Rijiju tweeted on the matter: “As per the provisions of the Constitution of India, the Honorable President of India has elevated the Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court, Rajesh Bindal, and the Chief Justice of Allahabad. Gujarat HC, Arvind Kumar, to the Supreme Court, best wishes to them.”

According to the information received, the judges who will appear in the High Court are the Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court, Rajesh Bindal, and the Chief Justice of the Gujarat High Court, Arvind Kumar. After both of them are sworn in now, the number of judges in SC will be 34, including the president Justice, which is their highest approved number is.
