The Redmi G 2021 gaming laptop has been launched today, September 22, as an upgraded version of the Redmi G laptop released last year. The new laptop comes in Intel and AMD variants, both of which feature 144Hz displays and 16GB of RAM. Apart from this, this laptop has 512 GB of storage. Talking about the difference between the two variants, the Intel variant of the Redmi G 2021 is equipped with an 11th Gen Intel Core i5 processor while the AMD option comes with an AMD Ryzen 7 processor. Both variants have been given the Xiaomi’s Hurricane Cooling 3.0 heat dissipation system, which comes with two large fans.

Redmi G 2021 price, availability

The Redmi G 2021 Intel Core i5 model is priced at CNY 5,699 (roughly Rs. 64,900), while the AMD Ryzen 7 variant is priced at CNY 6,999 (roughly Rs. 79,700). The Intel variant will be available for purchase in China starting Thursday, September 23. However, the sale of AMD’s option will start from September 28. At the moment, the company has not made any disclosure regarding the launch of the Redmi G 2021 model in the global market.

The original Redmi G laptop was launched in August last year, priced at CNY 5,299 (roughly Rs. 60,300) for the base variant with Intel Core i5-10200H CPU (60Hz display).

Redmi G 2021 Specifications

The Redmi G 2021 comes with Windows 10 (upgradable to Windows 11). It has a 16.1-inch display with a 144Hz refresh rate and is TÜV Rheinland certified for low blue light. The Intel variant is equipped with the 11th Gen Intel Core i5-11260H processor, with Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 graphics. Speaking of the AMD option, it is equipped with the AMD Ryzen 7 5800 processor with Nvidia GeForce 3060 graphics.

The Intel and AMD versions of the Redmi G 2021 are equipped with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. The laptop has Wi-Fi 6 connectivity and DTS:X Ultra 3D surround sound experience. Apart from this, it has a USB Type-C port for charging, a three-level backlit keyboard, and a Xiao AI digital assistant.

The Intel variant comes with a 180W power adapter and includes two fans to dissipate heat. However, the AMD model features a 230W power adapter and a heat dissipation system with dual 12V fans, four air vents, and five all-copper heat pipes.
