Redmi Note 11S is a 4G phone. You won’t get 5G connectivity on this. Its most important feature is its 108 megapixel camera. Xiaomi has launched this smartphone at a price of Rs 16,499 which is commendable. All the features that you would like to see in the smartphones that will be launched in this segment in 2022 are present in this phone. The phone hasn’t gone through many of our tests yet, but we’ll definitely tell you here how happy this device made us at first glance.
The design of Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 11S matches that of the Redmi Note 11T 5G, which was the first smartphone in the Redmi 11 series. The company launched it a few months ago in the same price range. However, the quad camera setup is available on Redmi Note 11S. In addition to the 108-megapixel main sensor, this phone has an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. The 16-megapixel front camera of the phone is installed in the hole-punch cutout. A chrome ring is provided over the lens.
The design of Redmi Note 11S is not very attractive. Its white and blue color variants may look slightly different, but the black unit I have, its color looks quite washed out. Despite having a matte finish, smudges and dust are easily visible on it. The phone’s body is made of plastic, but it feels good to hold in your hand. As always, Xiaomi has provided an IR blaster and a headphone jack, which is nice.
The phone has a 6.43-inch full-HD Plus (FHD+) AMOLED display. It has become better than Note 11T 5G, in which it was given an LCD panel. The refresh rate is 90 Hz and the maximum brightness is 1000 nits. Thanks to the OLED panel, the blacks are deeper, the color gamut is wider, which enhances the video viewing experience. The phone has stereo speakers, which have now become a must-have feature for most Redmi smartphones.
MediaTek Helio G96 processor has been included in Redmi Note 11S, which we could also see in Realme 8i. Apart from this, the same processor is also seen in Realme Narzo 50. The processor is based on the older 12nm manufacturing process, so on the page it is not as power efficient as MediaTek Dimensity or Qualcomm processors. recent. It can also be underestimated by Redmi Note 10 Pro’s Snapdragon 732G. However, this processor comes under the powerful chip count and to know more about its performance, you will have to wait for its review.
The price of the 6 GB RAM and 64 GB storage variant of Redmi Note 11S in India is Rs 16,499. At the same time, its 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant has launched for Rs 17,499, and the top-end variant with 8GB RAM + 128GB storage has launched for Rs 18,499.
A dedicated microSD card slot has been provided in the device, with the help of which the storage can be increased. It has a 5000mAh capacity battery and also has 33W fast charging support. A charger of this capacity is also available in the retail box. The phone is rated IP53 for resistance to dust and water. Also, it comes with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The phone runs on MIUI 13 based on Android 11.
The build quality of the phone is good according to how much I used the Redmi Note 11S in this short time. The design doesn’t appeal, but after applying the case, it probably won’t make much of a difference. It behooves me to consider how the Redmi Note 11S can fit into the company’s current lineup. We know that the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G launch is fixed and the phone has been introduced to the global market. In India, this phone may be launched under the name of Redmi Note 11E. If you are looking for a 4G only Redmi smartphone, then Redmi Note 10 Pro is still a good choice, which comes packed with better features than Redmi Note 11S.
I can’t give my final verdict until I’m done testing the Redmi Note 11S, so stay tuned to Gadgets 360 for the full review.
