Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio, two big companies in the telecom sector, have set themselves the goal of converting 150 million mobile phone users to 5G by March next year. Both companies are increasing their 5G coverage. The rate for this high-speed service may also be increased. Executives and analysts associated with the telecommunications industry say the upcoming fiscal year will bring a big change for telcos. In addition to increasing the reach of their 5G service, these companies will also focus on improving their network.
These companies can invest Rs 1.5 lakh crore in the next financial year. In the last three years, some companies have exited the indebted sector. Late last year, Telecom Secretary K Rajaraman said: “This year has been exciting because of 5G. This is a big step forward. We are looking forward to the rapid expansion of 5G next year.” He said that the government will continue to take measures to reduce the operating cost of telecom operators. Reliance Jio further strengthened its position by adding 14.26 lakh subscribers. Airtel has added 10.56 lakh subscribers.
