Punjab Police, in collaboration with its Community Affairs Department (CAD), has launched the first of its kind ‘Saanjh-Dilsa’ initiative to promote peace in the society, the police said in a statement on Saturday.
The Punjab government has taken a new initiative to allow people to settle civil cases on the basis of mutual consent. Under this initiative dubbed ‘Saanjh-Dilsa’, affected parties can resolve issues through the ‘online’ dispute resolution platform attached to the police station.

This will encourage the complainant to resolve mutual disputes at the station level.
It is a joint initiative of Punjab Police and Jupitis Technologies. It has been started on a pilot basis in the Moga district of the state at present. According to the statement, the disputing parties will have to pay Rs 100 each to register their case in Saanjh-Dilsa. Legal consultations can be conducted under this initiative and civil matters can be resolved, including matrimonial matters, labor disputes, and other civil matters.
The statement quoted Gurpreet Kaur Deo, Director General (Community Affairs Department) of the Punjab Police as saying, “Saanjh-Dilsa will provide an efficient way and an enabling environment to resolve disputes and differences between individuals and organizations.” The agreement made under Saanjh-Dilsa is enforceable in court through the Punjab State Legal Services Authority.
Raman Agarwal, Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Juptis Justice Technologies, said: “The Punjab government has taken a reform initiative in collaboration with the Punjab Police to improve access to justice through the participatory justice system. This initiative will be helpful in developing and promoting the community justice system and bringing justice to people’s doorstep through technology. The initiative will also improve access to justice for women and the marginalized.
