Raju Pullan, SVP of Samsung India unit, said, “In the first day of pre-ordering for this smartphone, orders for around 1.4 lakh units were received. The average price of this smartphone is about Rs 1 lakh and pre-booking since I received orders worth about Rs 1,400 crore on the first day.” The pre-reservation for this smartphone will be until February 23. The Galaxy S23 price in India ranges from Rs 75,000 to around Rs 1.55 lakh. The company has said that the manufacturing of this smartphone will be done at the Samsung factory in Noida. Previous Galaxy S series smartphones were manufactured at Samsung’s factory in Vietnam and imported by the company for sale in India.
In the budget, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had announced the removal of import duties on camera lenses. After this, Samsung decided to make Galaxy S23 smartphones in India. This smartphone has five cameras whose sensors range from 12 megapixels to 200 megapixels. Samsung Galaxy S23 sports a triple rear camera setup that includes a 50-megapixel main wide-angle sensor with f/1.8 aperture lens, 85-degree field of view, and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera with f/2.2 aperture and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera with 120-degree field of view and f/2.4 aperture lens.
The company has lowered the price of the Galaxy S22 in India after the launch of the new Galaxy S23 series. Its starting price is now Rs 57,999 instead of Rs 72,999. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC has been included in the company’s Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra. The regular Galaxy S22 has a triple camera unit, with a 50-megapixel primary sensor. It houses a 3700mAh battery that supports 25W wired charging and 15W wireless charging. The base variant with its 8GB RAM + 128GB storage option costs Rs 57,999 and the phone with 8GB + 256GB storage costs Rs 61,999. The Samsung Galaxy S22 was launched last year.
