Digital Desk, Los Angeles. Killing Eve star Sandra Oh will attend the funeral of Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II on Monday (September 19) as part of the Canadian delegation.
The 51-year-old actress will join the group after becoming a Member of the Order of Canada in June this year, reports mirror.co.uk.
The delegation will be led by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife Sophie, as well as former Prime Ministers and Governors General.
Trudeau announced the details during a special session of the Canadian House of Commons.
Sandra starred in the medical drama Grey’s Anatomy for just under a decade and then in the award-winning detective drama Killing Eve with Jodie Comer from 2018 to 2022.
She has won two Golden Globes and has been nominated for 13 Primetime Emmy Awards.
Following the death of Queen Elizabeth II on 8 September at the age of 96, it was announced that a state funeral would be held at Westminster Abbey.
The funeral will be attended by members of the royal family, politicians and heads of state, which is expected to be attended by some 2,000 people.
Downing Street said around 200 of them were invited to attend his state funeral, including leading activists and volunteers.
NHS staff will be among those carrying the Queen’s coffin.
Around 800 people, including staff from Queen’s House and Windsor Heritage, will attend the Commitment Service at 4pm in St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.
Officials from Afghanistan, Syria, Russia, Belarus, Venezuela and Myanmar have not been invited to attend Monday’s funeral, while Iran and North Korea can only pay their respects at the ambassadorial level.
