Punjab had scored 52 runs by losing two wickets at stumps so they will have to score 200 runs to win the fifth day with eight wickets remaining. Pukhraj Mann 17 and night watchman Siddharth Kaul are in the crease after scoring two runs. The course offers plenty of bounce and Ranji 2020 champions Saurashtra will be looking to get the job done on Saturday. On the other hand, Punjab will need a special batting effort to reach the semi-finals.
Saurashtra achieved success by sacking Punjab openers Prabhsimran Singh and Naman Dhir. Both scored centuries in the first innings to help Punjab score 431 runs. Left-arm spinner Parth Bhut first ruled out Dhir and then Prabhasimran became the second victim of him in the final before stumps.
