The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) said in a press release shared on its official website that this is the initial stage of the list and that the films will move on to the nomination stage, which will be followed by voting.
“RRR” has been the highest-grossing Indian film globally in 2022. In addition to the Oscar, it has also landed in two categories of the Golden Globes. Sen’s famous “All That Breathes” is also in the running for the BAFTA Awards and has made it to the top five documentary nominations.

The long list is based on votes from Round 1, which ended on December 30. All of these films will now move on to the nominations phase of the voting, which will continue until January 13, Variety reports.
The final BAFTA nominations will be announced on January 19 in a live event and global broadcast hosted by actors Hayley Atwell and Tohib Jimoh. The awards ceremony will take place on Sunday 19 February at the Royal Festival Hall in Southbank Centre.
