New Delhi. A case of workplace abuse by several Indian students in Britain has come to light. Following this, the Indian High Commission in London, the capital of Great Britain, on Friday called on Indian students to contact the embassy for help and advice. So that the Indian High Commission can help the students. The High Commission’s appeal to Indian students comes amid fears that more than 50 of them could be trapped in modern slavery while working in care centers run by five men of Indian origin in north Wales.
The Gangmasters and Labor Abuse Authority (GLAA), a UK government labor abuse investigation and intelligence agency, reported earlier this week that it had managed to obtain labor abuse warrants against the five men. The GLAA said it has “identified more than 50 Indian students in the last 14 months as possible victims of modern slavery and labor abuse” in connection with the case.
