Microsoft aims to offer Windows 11 to all eligible Windows 10 devices by mid-2022. In the meantime, the Windows 11 upgrade will initially be available for new Windows 10 PCs. New PC models from companies like Asus, HP, and Lenovo are starting to come with Windows 11 pre-installed. PCs from partners like Acer and Dell will arrive soon with new versions. Microsoft will also bring Windows 11 pre-installed to its new range of Surface devices, which began shipping in the US from yesterday.
How to get the Windows 11 update on an existing PC
Along with new PCs, Microsoft is rolling out Windows 11 to eligible older PCs on a phase-by-phase basis. You can check for Windows 11 update on your PC by going to the Windows Update section. You can also download Microsoft’s PC Health app on your PC to check if the machine is eligible for the next update.
If your PC is eligible to receive Windows 11 but the update hasn’t arrived yet, you can get the latest Windows operating system using Microsoft’s setup wizard. All you need to do is hit the Download Now button on the installation wizard and then follow the instructions on the screen.
Microsoft has also provided an option to create a bootable USB or DVD drive from its Windows 11 software page. Additionally, you can create a Windows 11 disk image (ISO) that will be available on bootable installation media, such as a USB flash drive or DVD, to help you install the new version of Windows on your machine.
