Three massive asteroids 2022 YR4 XC15 YY3 pass close to Earth today December 27 Bus Building Size Nasa JPL Data Details

Small or large asteroids pass close to Earth almost every day. Where on the one hand some asteroids are very far from the earth, some pass very close. This is the reason why space agencies around the world keep a close eye on these asteroids so that they can be ensured that they do not become a threat to our blue planet in the near future. Today, December 27, three asteroids will pass close to Earth, ranging in size from 20 feet to 560 feet.

According to NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) Asteroid Watch program, three huge asteroids will pass close to Earth on Tuesday, December 27, that is, today. Their names are (2022 YR4), (2010 XC15), and (2022 YY3), which stand at 20 feet, 570 feet, and 30 feet tall respectively.

According to NASA JPL (2022 YR4), the size of the asteroid can be compared to a bus. At the time of the pass, its shortest distance from Earth will be about 3 lakh kilometers, which may sound like a lot to read, but this distance is considered very short in space. Its speed at the closest point will be 7.67 km per second (about 27,612 km per hour).

Apart from this, (2010 XC15) whose size is equal to 570 feet i.e. one building will traverse a distance of 7.72 lakh kilometers from the earth. As it passes close to Earth, its speed will be 10.10 kilometers per second (36,360 kilometers per hour).

Eventually, another asteroid called (2022 YY3) will pass close to Earth. Its size will be 30 feet and it is traveling a distance of a million kilometers. Its speed at the closest point will be 7.67 km per second (about 27,612 km per hour). As it passes closer to Earth, its speed will be 8.52 km per second (30,672 km per hour).
