Ahead of the film’s release, Bollywood stars got together and held a meeting with the Prime Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath. The stars wanted Yogi ji’s advice on what to do to remove anti-Bollywood sentiment and the hateful atmosphere associated with it. This time, Yogi Adityanath spoke openly on issues like ‘Bollywood Boycott’ of ‘Pathan’ film ‘Besharam Rong’. In the interview, Yogi Adityanath said that filmmakers should also keep in mind while making movies that there should be no scenes that arouse controversy or hurt the feelings of the public. Any artist, writer or anyone with achievements should be respected. Uttar Pradesh has also made a policy for movies and many movies are being made in the state.
When Sunil Shetty raised the subject of the boycott trend with Yogi Adityanath
UP CM Yogi Adityanath was earlier on a two-day visit to Mumbai where he met a number of celebrities including Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, Boney Kapoor, Kailash Kher and Sonu Nigam. With all of them he held a meeting with the possibility of subsidizing filmmakers to come shoot at UP. During the meeting, Suniel Shetty asked the CM to help stop the trend of boycotting Bollywood. The actor said that 99 percent of Bollywood is drug-free and focuses on hard work to reach people and therefore it is important that the #BoycottBollywood trending hashtag is removed to restore Bollywood’s image.

The boycott trend started again before the release of Pathan by Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone on January 25. Ever since the Besharam Rang movie song was released, it has created quite a stir. While many people love this upbeat song, others are boycotting the movie. Madhya Pradesh Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra became concerned about the wearing of saffron colored clothing in the song. He also said that Pathan has some objectionable scenes and threatened to have it banned in Madhya Pradesh if those shots were not replaced. He was also not happy with the name of the song. After this, many politicians spoke along the same lines.
