This map shows that apart from most areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, severe winter will occur in most areas of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and some parts of Madhya Pradesh .
I don’t know how to put this, but the next spell of #ondafria in #India it looks really extreme during Jan 14-19, 2023 with a peak from the 16th to 18th. I have never seen such a low temperature set in a forecast model so far in my career.
Freezing -4°c to +2°c on plains, Wow! pic.twitter.com/pyavdJQy7v— Meteorologist Navdeep Dahiya (@navdeepdahiya55) January 11, 2023
In his tweet, Navdeep has written that the next cold wave will peak on January 14-19, 2023. Especially January 16-18 will see its maximum effect. Navdeep wrote that he had not seen such a low temperature in forecast models in his career. In the plains of northern India, the temperature can drop from -4°c to +2°c. Separately, the Indian Metrological Department (IMD) has also said that cold snap conditions are likely to prevail in Delhi and its neighboring states from Saturday.
Significantly, in January this year, there is bitter cold in North India. Because the temperature didn’t rise during the day, people are melting. What has been predicted for the next few days is really worrying.
