The Cricket Board of Control in India has started preparations for the auction of the first season of the Women’s Premier League. According to the information, on January 13 the players will be auctioned in Mumbai. Given this, franchisees will be seen shortening the list. It is believed that the auction for the first season will be a great success. Apart from the Indian players, the foreign players are also very excited about this auction.

A total of five franchisees have to participate in this auction. Through this auction, each franchisee must purchase a minimum of 15 and a maximum of 18 players for their team. In this way you can buy players in a total of 90 slots. 35 of 90 players will be foreigners. That is, each team can have a maximum of seven foreign players. Each team must also have a player from a partner country. This step will prove to be very useful for the development of women’s cricket.

It is believed that the base price of the auction has been set. In this auction, the limited players will stay in the base price category of Rs 30, 40 and 50 lakhs. In this there will be players who have played international cricket. While for uncapped players, the base price range of 10 and 20 lakhs will be maintained. Rs 12 crore will be given to each team to buy players.

The Cricket Board of Control in India sold all five teams. By selling these kits, the board earned Rs 4,669.99 crore. BCCI Secretary Jai Shah has reported on this. He said in a series of tweets that the official name of the women’s IPL will now be the Women’s Premier League (WPL).
