Xiaomi Oppo Vivo Working together Adding support for data migration Making it easy to switch smartphones Availability details

In today’s time, from messaging to payment, our smartphone has applications to facilitate many things related to our life. When we buy a new smartphone or change our smartphone to another smartphone, the biggest problem for us is to move all the data from our old phone to the new phone. You can change some of your data through Google Backup, but third-party app data is hard to transfer, especially if you’re switching from one brand to another. Now Xiaomi, Vivo and Oppo are working together to make it easier for their users to switch smartphones. Let’s know more about it.

Xiaomi has said through a post on the Chinese social media platform Weibo that the company, along with Vivo and Oppo, is preparing special support for migrating data between devices, even when switching to devices from other brands. MIUI from Xiaomi, ColorOS from Oppo and OriginOS from Vivo will now support data migration between devices.

This will include basic data like text log, photo library, app list, various settings, as well as third party app data. Usually, people can transfer phone-related settings or basic data via brand-specific official apps or Google Backup, but here the biggest problem is transferring data from third-party apps and migrating data to other brands. But the new effort by Chinese companies to make data migration very easy for people.

In its Weibo post, Xiaomi wrote (translated) “In order to provide users with a better switching experience, Xiaomi is collaborating with Vivo and OPPO. In addition to system data such as photos and contacts, Vivo and OPPO mobiles for the Added Mi Support replacement to migrate third-party app data from phone. No need to worry about your chat history when switching phones.”

Xiaomi, Vivo, and Oppo haven’t revealed any further details about how this new process will work, but it appears the feature is only available in China at the moment. However, since all three companies have a large number of users across the globe including India, we expect the company to roll out the feature to other markets in the near future.
