Digital Desk, Hobart. The fourth match of the Super-16 round of the T20 World Cup 2022 was played today between Zimbabwe and Ireland. In this match played at the Hobart stadium, the Zimbabwean team kicked off the World Cup with a victory by defeating Ireland by 31 runs. In this victory for Zimbabwe, experienced batsman Sikandar Raza and fast bowler Blessing Mujarbani played important roles.

Raza played a brilliant inning

At the start of the match, the Ireland captain decided to bowl first after winning the toss. Batting first, the Zimbabwean side managed a total of 174 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs thanks to the brilliant tackles of Sikandar Raza. Experienced batsman Sikandar Raza played a brilliant 84-run innings off just 48 balls aided by 5 fours and 5 sixes. Joshua Little took the top 3 wickets for Ireland.

The bowlers showed their strength

Chasing 175 runs, the Ireland team could only score 143 runs in 20 overs losing 9 wickets. For Ireland, Curtis Camper scored the highest innings of 27 runs. On the other hand, Blessing Mujarbani took the top 3 wicket for Zimbabwe. He was voted ‘Man of the Match’ for Sikandar Raza’s brilliant innings.
